2022 Lexus LX 500d & LX 600 VIP - Exterior and Interior

First-Ever VIP Grade
The all-new LX is the first to be offered in a VIP version, offering even higher levels of comfort and luxury with two larger rear seats in a four-seat cabin layout with extra legroom, dedicated climate control features, a multi-function rear console and extended legroom with an ottoman to support the feet and calves.

The rear seats, exclusive to VIP grade, are designed to provide excellent support from head to toe. Upholstered in leather, they feature exclusive quilting on the side bolsters and urethane padding to filter out road vibrations and disperse pressure. The experience is enhanced with large, pillow-like head rests and integrated heating and ventilation.

Additional features are provided in the rear seat behind the front passenger, with power adjustment of the upper seatback and an ottoman support which deploys from the back of the front seat. Together, the seat and ottoman are engineered to replicate the neutral body posture advocated by the space agency NASA – the posture that humans naturally assume in a gravity-free environment, considered to be the most relaxing. The toe area of the ottoman is concave, so the occupant’s feet are supported against side-to-side movement; the surface is stain-resistant synthetic leather, so shoes don’t have to be removed.

There is ample space in the second and third rows, while comfort and amenities are taken to an even higher level in the new four-seat VIP model.

POWERTRAINS AND PERFORMANCE
3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol
The Lexus LX 600 is powered by a new 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine with a twin turbocharger. In terms of power and torque, it marks an increase on the performance of the previous 5.7-litre V8 engine, developing 409 hp/ 305 kW at 5200 rpm and peak torque of 650 Nm from 2000 to 3600 rpm. The twin turbo system helps secure a flat torque curve, giving extra boost at low engine speeds and easily controllable power when travelling off-road.

The twin-turbo unit gives accurate boost control using an electrically activated wastegate valve. Featuring an optimised blade shape, it boosts power while maintaining fuel economy, emissions compliance and quiet operation.

3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel
The diesel V6 engine in the new LX 500d uses a two-way turbocharger and low-flow combustion technology to achieve higher output and performance than the previous V8 unit, with a maximum 295 hp and 700 Nm of torque.

Lexus’ first two-way twin turbo system switches automatically to single turbo operation at low speeds and twin-turbo running at high engine speeds, giving powerful acceleration response and high torque at low engine rpm.

10-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission
Both engines use a new 10-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission, in place of the eight-speed gearbox in the previous LX. It is designed with close gears for rhythmical shifting, while the wide ratio range supports both power and fuel efficiency.
