Health authorities warn new wave is just the beginning

Chief Medical Officer Paul Kelly says Australians need to do things differently to ease the pressure from the latest COVID wave on hospitals. More than 50-thousand cases were detected across the country yesterday, as numbers rise due to new Omicron subvariants. People are being encouraged to wear masks indoors and get booster shots but governments have stopped short of declared mandates.
