Hornbills are known to be fruit eaters, but this Indian Grey Hornbill seems to be an exception.

In this strange video, surfacing from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh (India), the bird in question can be seen relaxing on a tree and munching on a reptile.

“The Indian grey hornbill (Ocyceros birostris) is a common hornbill found across the Indian subcontinent,” said Suneet Dhiman. “Documentation of rare behavior of a Hornbill munching on a reptile.

“Hornbills are mostly frugivorous (fruit eating), but Indian Grey Hornbills have been reported to come out of their fruit munching & become opportunist meat eaters.”
