Shivling Prasad: मंदिर में भगवान की पूजा के बाद लोग प्रसाद चढ़ाते हैं. और पंडित जी उसी प्रसाद को लोगों में बांट देते हैं. उस प्रसाद को लोग भगवान का आशीर्वाद समझ कर ग्रहण कर लेते हैं, लेकिन क्या आप जानते हैं कि भगवान शिव जी का प्रतीक शिवलिंग पर चढ़ा हुआ प्रसाद ग्रहण करना निषेध माना जाता है. इसके पीछे पौराणिक मान्यता है कि भगवान शिव के मुख से चण्डेश्वर नामक गण प्रकट हुआ था. चण्डेश्वर भूत-प्रेतों का प्रधान है. कहते हैं कि शिवलिंग पर चढ़ा हुआ प्रसाद चण्डेश्वर का भाग होता है. चण्डेश्वर का अंश यानी शिवलिंग पर चढ़ा हुआ प्रसाद ग्रहण करना भूत-प्रेतों का अंश ग्रहण करना माना जाा है. इसलिए कहा जाता है कि शिवलिंग पर चढ़ा हुआ प्रसाद ग्रहण नहीं करना चाहिए.

People accept that prasad as a blessing of God, but do you know that it is considered a taboo to accept the offerings offered on the Shivling, a symbol of Lord Shiva. There is a mythological belief behind this that a Gana named Chandeshwar had appeared from the mouth of Lord Shiva. Chandeshwar is the chief of ghosts and spirits. It is said that the Prasad offered on Shivling is part of Chandeshwar. Accepting the portion of Chandeshwar i.e. offerings offered on Shivling is considered to be taking part of ghosts and spirits. That is why it is said that offerings made on Shivling should not be accepted.
