Professor Roop Rekha Verma is going viral on social media for keeping the spirit of freedom struggle alive. The 79 year old was seen distributing pamphlets of Lucknow Siege on the streets of Lucknow for the sole purpose of keeping the spirit of patriotism alive. Professor Verma has served as the vice chancellor of Lucknow University.The siege of Lucknow was the prolonged defence of the British Residency in Lucknow from rebel sepoys during the Indian Rebellion of 1857. Netizens hailed Professor Verma as a ‘true patriot’.
