Study: Dog ancestry traces back to two wolf populations

According to the publications in the 'Nature' journal, a recent study conducted by an international team of Francis Crick Institute's archaeologists and geneticists has found that a dog's ancestry can be traced back to at least two prehistoric wolf populations.
The study revealed the answer to the most asked questions about human prehistory by stepping closer to uncovering the mystery of where dogs underwent domestication.
Dogs are known to have originated from the grey wolf, with this domestication occurring during the Ice Age, at least 15,000 years ago.
But where this happened, and if it occurred in one single location or in multiple places, is still unknown.
