Birmingham: Massive Fire Destroys Recycling Plant In UK

Nearly 110 firefighters were tackling a large blaze at a recycling plant in Nechells, Birmingham at 19:40 BST on June 12. The Midlands Fire Service was called to the Smurfit Kappa recycling plant to help douze the fire. Sam Burton, the Area Commander said, “When we arrived on scene, there was around 8,000 tonnes of compressed cardboard on fire.” No cases of casualties were reported. On June 13 afternoon, West Midlands Fire Service said the incident had been scaled down with four crews left on site, reported BBC. Watch the video to know more.
