Annapolis Valley Apple Blossom Festival

* Update * 2023 Annapolis Valley Apple Blossom Festival

Matt Minglewood is coming to Kentville for the festival but this time it won't be at the traditional free ABF outdoor concert ? This year you'll have to pay to get into the concert to see Matt ?

More ABF changes and cut-backs ! The Final Solution ?

Some very sad and shocking news from the current ABF Management team. Have we seen the last Queen ever and does ABF 2023 signal the End of an Era ? ABF Officials have been claiming concerns for a while now about the diversity and inclusion issue along with their desire to evolve and modernize the historic ABF Queen Annapolisa and Princess competition. Apparently they must have held a think tank last Winter and have made an adjustment ? And it appears that they decided to end one of the Valleys most popular, glamorous, longest running and most anticipated yearly family events ?

And so, it seems that her royal Heiness Queen Annapolisa along with the 7 to 10 Valley Princess contestants and the 7 to 10 accompanying child attendants who all proudly represent their individual home towns, along with, the ultra glamorous Wolfville Queen Coronation and Ladies-in-waiting Crowning ceremony held and televised each year from Acadia University, and, all of the many popular Community Princess Tea events taking place all over the Valley during the week, as well as, the marvelous hand crafted award winning 7 to 10 Princess float entrees in the Grand Street Parade, and Miss Congeniality contest, as well as, the many Royal Party visitations, functions and appearances that are always so welcomed, appreceated and uplifting for their many hosts and hostesses, etc. etc. will no longer be a part of the Apple Blossom Festival ? ABF Officials led by President Logan Morse along with a representative from the town of Kentville Lindsey Young, appear to have taken concerns of the LGBTQ community and others into account and have decided to terminate the iconic Queen Annapolisa Pageant/competition explaining that a decision was made to improve, modernize and evolve the historic and internationally known beauty and leadership competition that is now in its 88th consecutive year ? By making such a fatal and what seems to be over-simplified and even self centered solution, the current ABF officials have now left a huge hole not only in the Apple Blossom Festival itself but also in the many participating Valley communities. And because of such a major cut-back, what then will happen with all the savings and what are the plans for an equal or better replacement for the long running beloved family event that was enjoyed by Valley residents of all ages ?
