King Creole is a 1958 American musical drama film directed by Michael Curtiz and starring Elvis Presley, Carolyn Jones, and Walter Matthau. Produced by Hal B. Wallis and based on the 1952 novel A Stone for Danny Fisher by Harold Robbins, the film revolves around a nineteen-year-old young man who is in a relationship with two women .

Presley went on to state that of all the characters he played throughout his acting career, danny Fisher's role in King Creole was his favorite. In order to make the film, Presley took a 60-day leave from January to March 1958 at the beginning of his military assignment. His shooting in New Orleans was delayed several times due to a crowd of fans swarming his stars, especially Presley.

It was released by Paramount Pictures on July 2, 1958, and was a critical and commercial success. Critics praised Presley's performance. King Creole topped fifth on variety's box office charts.

The soundtrack song "Hard Headed Woman" peaked at number one on billboard's pop singles chart, number two on the R&B charts, and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), while her soundtrack album topped number two on the Billboard albums chart.
