She had to be selective this year, and only certain royals will receive the special honour.The Queen said "no" to more than just Prince AndrewThis was the Palace's official statement on the decision: "After careful consideration, the Queen has decided that this year's traditional Trooping the Colour balcony appearance [...] will be limited to Her Majesty and those members of the Royal Family who are currently undertaking official public duties on behalf of the Queen."Prince Andrew was most recently embroiled in a sex scandal and has withdrawn from the public eye. In the course of his scandal, his mother deprived him of his title as well as his military roles.Also interesting:The absence of Prince Andrew also has consequences for his daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice. The Queen's two granddaughters are held in high esteem within the British Royal Family, but they're still not welcome on the balcony.While in past years, nearly 50 members of the Royal Family showed up on the balcony, this year there will be only 17.
