The Tehri dam is located along the Bhagirathi Ganga / Ganges, in Uttarakhand, India. It was the subject of much environmental activism prior to completion, but is now providing some power and water to New Delhi and other cities in north India. This clip shows the submerged Tehri town which was preceded by the displacement of the town's population.

This footage was filmed near Chinialisaur where an air-strip was to come up, and the villages of Baldhiana en route Uttarkashi along the Bhagirathi Ganga.
