Set in 1941 Paris, when badges with the yellow Star of David identified Jews, it follows jeweller Joseph Haffmann (Daniel Auteuil) and his employee Francois Mercier (Gilles Lellouche). In an attempt to flee the city and save his family, Mr Haffmann makes a deal to keep his store open until the conflict is over.
