The Ultimate Game Changer: Robotic Umpires

Baseball's automated ball and strike (ABS) system, or the robotic umpire, is one of sports' newest tech innovations. After tryout in the lower leagues, the system is set to be tested in Triple-A ball this year. We spoke to Rob Friedman, Founder of Pitching Ninja; Tom House, renowned pitching coach; and Rocky Collis, former minor league pitcher and CEO of Mustard, a sports consulting group, to learn more about how the ABS system works and whether this is an idea that is going to help or hurt America’s pastime.
