Hong Kong’s leader Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor has denied the government will impose a “wholesale city lockdown” when it begins its universal testing for Covid-19. Reports that a lockdown was being discussed sparked fears over food supply and mobility, prompting panic buying throughout the city. Lam appealed for calm, saying details have yet to be ironed out.  (Photo: SCMP/ Edmond So)
