Bappi Lahiri, Veteran Music Composer-Singer & Bollywood’s Disco King, Dies At 69

Veteran music composer and singer Bappi Lahiri died in a hospital in Mumbai on February 15. 69-year-old Bappi Lahiri had been in hospital for nearly a month. As per a PTI report, Bappi Lahiri’s last rites would be conducted at Pawan Hans Crematorium on February 17, once his son Bappa Lahiri arrives from US. Soon after news of the music legend’s passing away came to light, tributes started pouring in. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “Shri Bappi Lahiri Ji’s music was all encompassing, beautifully expressing diverse emotions.” Actor Akshay Kumar tweeted, “Today we lost another gem from the music industry… Bappi Da,your voice was the reason for millions to dance, including me.” Filmmaker Karan Johar tweeted, “The Gold Standard in music…. The Disco King forever….” Actor Priyanka Chopra took to her Instagram stories and said, “Rest in glory, Disco King!” Watch the video to know more.
