In a government college in Karnataka's Udupi district, a new ruckus has arisen over wearing hijab, in fact some Muslim girl students are protesting. They demand that they be allowed to wear the hijab during classes. Muslim girl students have been fighting for the last three weeks for their demand to wear hijab in college. The standoff escalated on Thursday morning when they staged a protest with placards at the college gate, with state education minister BC Nagesh reacting, saying the practice was "indiscipline" and schools and colleges "following religion". There is no place to do it.

Karnataka के Udupi district के एक सरकारी कॉलेज में hijab पहनने को लेकर नया बवाल खड़ा हो गय है,दरअसल कुछ Muslim girl students विरोध प्रदर्शन कर रही हैं. उनकी मांग है कि कक्षाओं के दौरान उन्हें हिजाब पहनने की इजाजत दी जाए. मुस्लिम छात्राएं पिछले तीन सप्‍ताह से कालेज में हिजाब पहनने की मांग को लेकर संघर्ष कर रही हैं। ये गतिरोध गुरुवार की सुबह तब बढ़ गया जब उन्होंने कॉलेज के गेट पर तख्तियों के साथ विरोध प्रदर्शन किया,वहीं राज्य के education minister BC Nagesh ने इस पर प्रतिक्रिया देते हुए कहा कि यह प्रथा "अनुशासनहीनता" है और स्कूल और कॉलेज "धर्म का पालन करने की जगह नहीं हैं।
