UK lifts Covid-19 mask rule, says Omicron wave ‘has peaked’

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson stated that Covid restrictions were being eased because government scientists think it is likely that the Omicron variant wave has "peaked nationally”. The UK government is no longer advising people to work from home, and compulsory face masks in secondary school classrooms will be scrapped. Face masks will no longer be legally required anywhere in England starting Thursday.
