This is the epic moment a football fan proposed to his girlfriend after their team's first touchdown - whilst the surrounding crowd went wild.

Anthony Deal, 30, surprised his wife to be Abigail Lee Nashwinter, 26, by getting down on one knee during the Buffalo Bills vs Carolina Panthers game in Buffalo last month.

The couple are die hard supporters of the Bills after both growing up in the local area, so this seemed like the perfect place for Anthony to pop the question.

In the video, Abigail, who owns her own Bills' inspired clothing line, can be seen celebrating her team's touchdown when Anthony drops to one knee beside her.

The crowd then quickly realise what's going and on and erupt into a supportive roar which seems to echo round the stadium.

An emotional Abigail then accepts Anthony's proposal and the couple share a passionate hug surrounded by members of her family and countless strangers.

Abigail, from Charlotte, North Carolina, said: "We were visiting my family for Christmas and we thought it would be nice to watch two teams which are close to our hearts.

"We are die hard Buffalo supporters, but we live in North Carolina so we have a vested interest in the panthers too.

"I was celebrating the Buffalo's first touchdown when my dad started filming.

"Next thing you know Anthony was down on one knee asking me to marry him and everyone around us was going crazy.

"My whole family were in on it, and when we got home we were thrown a huge surprise engagement party to celebrate.

"He really pulled it out the bag and it's a special moment I'll hold on to forever."

The video was filmed on December 19.
