Kent MPs call to crack down on people smuggling after 28 people die in Channel

This has to be a turning point.

That's the message from one refugee charity in Dover after it's been confirmed 28 people, including 3 children, have lost their lives trying crossing the English Channel into Kent.

The UK government have pledged to crack down on criminal gangs, but Sittingbourne and Sheppey MP Gordon Henderson says France need to step up their efforts to stop them coming in the first place.
