Hong Kong Clock Tower tolls again after more than 70 years

The bells of the Clock Tower in Hong Kong’s Tsim Sha Tsui district chimed again on December 9, 2021, after 71 years of silence. Built in 1915, the iconic Clock Tower was first heard in March 1921 to mark its maiden operation as part of the now-demolished Kowloon-Canton Railway station in Kowloon. The bell stopped ringing in 1950 as the clocks and chimes had gone out of synchronisation. The tower will now chime daily on the hour, from 8am to midnight.  Video source: Reuters/Eyepress News
