Jada Bharata simply wanted to return home, back to Godhead, by executing devotional service to Lord Krishna. Therefore he was not concerned with following the Vedic principles governing material life. The duty of every human being is to solve all the problems of life -- birth, old age, disease, and death -- by executing devotional service. But instead almost everyone ignores the real solution to these problems and remains absorbed in mundane family affairs. Although they forget death, death does not forget them.
