Amazing Earth: The Sunken City of Mapanuepe Lake

Aired (November 21, 2021): The Mapanuepe Lake was formed in 1991 after the cataclysmic eruption of Mt. Pinatubo. When lahar flows, it blocks the two major rivers of Mapanuepe Valley making a lot of villages submerged in floodwater. To this day, the only visible remnants of the village is the Bojaoen church steeple protruding out of the water. Find out more in this video.
