This man built a DIY primitive wooden pump drill. He made a hole into the center of a wooden block with finger drills and fixed a stick in it. Then he sharpened a tree bark and drilled holes in it. After putting a cloth string through it, the man fixed it to his drill. With some final touches, the DIY primitive wooden pump drill was ready to be used.

00:00Can you make a drill? Yeah! The drill I'm going to make is a pump drill.
00:03This is a birch tree and first thing I got to do is drill a hole. I'm going to be using
00:07some finger drills. Find the center, right there.
00:17I need this piece to slide all the way down to about right here.
00:21This is going to act as a weight, applying pressure down. Now I need to create a pump action.
00:30Now I'm going to drill three holes. A nice big one in the middle and I have two smaller ones.
00:37Got my lashing. Run this guy through the big hole. Now I need to secure this. I'm going to use one
00:45of these little elk cuts and we'll hold it nice and tight. Take my finger drill that I was using,
00:50slide my little pressure bit down, place it right in the wood.
00:53That's how you make a drill.
