Kerala floods snake rescue

Kerala is only just starting to recover from the floods. But as people head home, some of them are facing an unpleasant surprise — snakes. The creatures slid their way into houses as they escaped the floods. It's a phenomenon they've never seen before, says the Wildlife Trust of India.

The trust was called by the forest department to help clear houses of snakes — some venomous, some not. They found snakes in curious places, like above doors. In one incident, they heard of a cobra on a ceiling fan. With people returning, snakes are going to need to find a new home.
