Monteco (born Monteco Turner on September 16, 1978 in Mississippi) was a male R&B singer from the 90’s.
He and his family moved to New Orleans, Louisiana when he was 7 years old and started singing in church.
When he was 10 years old, Monteco entered a talent show sponsored by a local radio station called WYLD where he sang Whitney Houston’s “Greatest Love of All” and won second place in both the junior and adult categories.
Monteco met Quincy Jones when he was visiting in New Orleans after his father pulled him out of school to sing for Quincy at his hotel. After that, Quincy promised to help Monteco sign a record deal to MCA Records.
