This artist used fabric, a fishing line, a clothes hanger, and some lights to create a very realistic-looking pair of hanging ghosts for his windows. The ghosts were also made to move and flow with the help of a line mechanism and a fan. Not only did it look aesthetic and spooky, but it was also a cheap and fun way to go about Halloween decorations.

00:00Welcome to another behind-the-scenes look for the Haunted Great Oak. This time
00:05I'm going to be showing you what our ghosts look like from the inside when
00:09the lights are on. So if you are interested in making something like this
00:15what I did is I took some electrical wire and shaped it into a head and
00:27shoulder outline. Then I got some fabric that could be used for weddings or
00:37anything else. Basically some chiffon. And I did a piece that comes over the
00:46shoulders and there's a hole in the top that went over the head and then another
00:53piece that went over the front and back of the body. And then I used another
01:02piece that went around the head part and filled it with some additional material
01:13on the inside of it. And as you'll notice I've just tied it in the back here with
01:19a regular square knot to make it be in place. And the way that I rigged this up
01:27to make them move to go different directions well towards the window and
01:36away from the window. Upstairs is a different way which I will have in a
01:41different video. But the way that I did it is I ran some fishing line that is
01:48going from painters poles back here. And from the painters poles there is
01:59fishing line that comes up through the back of the ghost and goes up to the
02:15curtain rod where I attached it using a safety pin or sorry a paper clip. And
02:25then the way that I make it move from there is I've got a v-shaped. You can't
02:35even see it here. So there's a v-shaped set of fishing line. There's part
02:44attached to each side of the head. And that goes up into a singular point up
02:52here. And from the singular point it goes up over the curtain rod. And then it
03:02comes back down to a fan that is down here. As the fan turns it gives slack or
03:12takes away slack and thus slides them up the initial fishing line. So when
03:21everything is up and running it will look something like Alexa turn on guest
03:27room. Okay. So the fan starts moving which can also help give the ghosts their
03:38feeling of actual movement on their own. And as you'll notice the ghosts will
03:48move closer to the window and further away from the window. So again it's
04:00pretty inexpensive. The most expensive parts of course are going to be the UV
04:06blacklight and the fan that's on the floor. The material is pretty inexpensive
04:13as long as you have some place to put your painters poles. And curtain rod of
04:26course is needed for this. So this is how the downstairs ghosts move away and
04:35toward the window. And when everything is all running like this this is how it
04:42looks from the inside. So on that note go make something.
