Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp partially reconnected to the global internet nearly six hours after the services were disrupted late on October 4. This outage paralysed the social media platforms. Facebook and its WhatsApp and Instagram apps experienced outages around 9 pm (India time). Millions of users complained that fresh messages were not being loaded. Mike Schroepfer, Facebook Chief Technology tweeted, “*Sincere* apologies to everyone impacted by outages of Facebook powered services right now.” Tech Giant’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated that services are returning online. When the world was facing trouble while using Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, Twitter took to its official handle to greet everyone.
