Drugs worth Rs 25 crores caught by BSF on LoC

Police on Sunday claimed to have recovered drugs worth Rs 25 crore along the Line of Control (LOC) in the Uri sector of Baramulla district in north Kashmir. Addressing a press conference, Rayees Ahmad Bhat, SSP Baramulla credited this successful operation to alert troops posted at the LOC who noticed suspicious movement near the border on Saturday. The jawans foiled the attempt to pump illegal drugs into Jammu and Kashmir from across the border, he said. Around 25 to 30 kilograms of heroin was recovered and handed over to the police. The market value of the narcotics is estimated to be around Rs 25 crore. Watch this video.
