Tumbler Device Filters Plastic Out of Beach Sand

The tumbler device was created by Ken G. Kosada, who has used it to clean up beaches around Hawaii. The simple device spins sand and debris inside of a metal grate, catching debris and allowing clean sand to fall through.

Kosada has worked with organizations such as Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii to produce more tumblers and host community cleanups.
