In the city of Ulyanovsk, Russia, a worker at a trash sorting facility found a black and white cat trapped in a plastic bag.
The employee Mikhail Tukash is shown in a video that went viral in Russia, taking out the cat from the bag and holding him.
Tukash’s job is to open bags and check them for metal but he felt something soft and he then saw eyes looking right back at him.
The Ministry of Environment honored Tukash with a letter of appreciation and adopted the cat.
The ministry gave the cat the honorary title of Deputy Environment Minister and launched a contest to name the feline.
A similar rescue in New Jersey happened the same week so please if you cannot take care of your pets find them an other home or bring them to a shelter.
