Kadokawa opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of Miko Yasu's Hakozume: Koban Joshi no Gyakushuu (Police in a Pod) manga on Sunday, revealing the main staff, cast, a teaser visual (pictured), and teaser promotional video. The anime is scheduled to premiere in 2022.

Shion Wakayama (SSSS.Dynazenon) and Yui Ishikawa (Violet Evergarden) are starring as Mai Kawai and Seiko Fuji, respectively.

Yasu began serializing the slice of life police manga in Morning magazine in November 2017. Kodansha shipped the 17th volume on June 23. The manga won the 66th Shogakukan Manga Awards in the General category in January.

Kodansha USA licensed the manga digitally in English on May 27 and will publish the third volume on August 10.

Synopsis
Female police officer Kawai had enough of a career she wasn't even that into and was about to hand in her registration, when the unthinkable happened—she met the new, female director of her station!
