Origami is the art of paper folding, which is often associated with Japanese culture. The goal is to transform a flat square sheet of paper into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting techniques.
Below is a list of origami types and each style of origami will produce a different genre of origami models.

Action origami models are unique in that they move. The most obvious action models are the paper airplanes . But the oldest action models have been with us for over 400 years.
2. Business Card Origami
Business card origami will keep you awake! The world of origami is ever expanding: you can fold a square sheet of paper, or you can fold just about anything: candy wrappers, money, sticky note paper, toilet paper, and yes - you can fold business cards too.
3. Candy Wrapper Origami
Candy wrapper origami models are dedicated to those who love candy and origami.
4. Crease Patterns (CP)
CP are the lines on a piece of paper when you unfold an origami model.
Some diagrammers will use red and blue lines to differentiate between valley and mountain folds. If a CP is particularly complex, shaded circles are used to show the major body parts.

7. Modular Origami
Modular origami, also called unit origami, requires two or more pieces of paper. The paper is folded into a shape called a "unit" or a "module". Many units are assembled together to form the final origami model.
8. Origami Quilts
Paper is folded into units and many units join to form beautiful, planar mosaics. These can then be displayed on a tabletop or hung up against a wall. Origami quilts may be considered a subset of modular origami.
