International Webinar "Exploring Opportunities in Gold Certification for ASGM Sector in Indonesia"

Artisanal and small-scale gold miners In Indonesia are commonly unable to access formal gold markets and this negatively impacts the income received from their gold production. An ethical gold certification scheme is a potential mechanism for mercury-free gold from Indonesian Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining (ASGM) communities to be sold on the gold market in transparent and fair way. How are gold certification programs for ASGM implemented in other countries? Can these similar certifications applied in Indonesia’s ASGM? The GOLD-ISMIA Project will bring together both national and international speakers to share their experiences and insights in gold certification.

Simultaneous translators (English – Indonesia – English) will be provided throughout the webinar.

Objective and Outcomes
To provide a platform for sharing information, knowledge and lessons learned on gold certification for ASGM sector. By the end of the webinar, the audiences are expected to have increased knowledge of gold certification programs being implemented around the globe and have insights on opportunities for application of similar certification in Indonesia’s ASGM.
