2021 T20I World Cup के लिए दोनों ग्रुप्स का एलान हो गया है. ग्रुप ए को ग्रुप ऑफ़ डेथ कहा गया है. वेस्टइंडीज, ऑस्ट्रेलिया, इंग्लैंड और साउथ अफ्रीका जैसी टीम है. जबकि दूसरे ग्रुप में भारत और न्यूजीलैंड के साथ पाकिस्तान ही मजबूत टीम के रूप में है. ये थोड़ा आसान ग्रुप है. लेकिन टक्कर तो होगी ही. अब ग्रुप आने के बाद खबर आ रही है कि New Zealand के खिलाड़ी आईपीएल छोड़ दे. चूँकि, New Zealand टीम को सितंबर में Pakistan का दौरा करना है. दोनों देशों के बीच तीन वनडे और तीन ही टी20 मुकाबले भी खेले जाएंगे. हालांकि Pakistan टीम चाहती है कि कीवी टीम दो और मैच खेले और अगर ऐसा हुआ तो New Zealand के खिलाड़ी आईपीएल मिस कर सकते हैं.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has requested New Zealand Cricket to play two additional T20I matches when its team tours the country later this year before the World T20 Cup in UAE. According to details, the New Zealand team is scheduled to play three One-Day Internationals and as many T20 matches in September-October during the tour, which will be its first to Pakistan since 2002. “Yes negotiations are being held with Cricket New Zealand to play two additional T20 matches because of the World T20 Cup but nothing is finalized as yet," a source said.
