Odisha government has granted permission for inviting application from affiliated-schools seeking increase in Plus-2 intake.
The permission has been granted to the Director of Higher Secondary Education (HSE) to invite online application from desirous schools.
In the letter, the Odisha government has asked the director to take immediate necessary steps for wide publication of the decision of the government.
Earlier, the Higher Secondary Education Director had sought permission from the state government for inviting such applications through SAMS portal. The applications are being sought from the desirous HSE-affiliated schools for increase in seats for the academic session 2021-22.
This decision of the government comes after higher number of students cleared the matriculation examination this year than the number of seats available in Plus 2 colleges.
This year, at least 5,62,010 students cleared the matric examination while there are only 4,43,354 Plus-2 seats in state.
