Gold Coast domestic violence sanctuary pushed to its limits

A sanctuary on the Gold Coast has become an unusual haven for women who’ve escaped domestic violence – as well as a menagerie of sheep, alpacas and exotic birds. But the pandemic, and a shortage of housing, is pushing the refuge to its limits with women being turned away.
