According to Fox Business, Ford sales dropped 26.9% in June compared to last year.
Sales of the company's best-selling
F-Series trucks sank 29.9%.
The automaker, like many others, continues to face issues created by the current semiconductor chip shortage.
Ford announced nine plants will temporarily close in July and August because of the issue.
Still, the company's sales for the first half of the year are up 4.9%, landing it in third place after General Motors and Toyota. .
