Animals On The Train: Baby Wild Boar Spotted On Hong Kong Metro

A young wild boar in Hong Kong sparked delight by hopping onto a Hong Kong subway train. The wild boar led the staff on a merry cross-harbour chase that included boarding two separate trains, reported AFP. The plucky piglet slipped under the ticket barriers of Quarry Bay station on Hong Kong Island on June 18 afternoon & somehow managed to board a passing train. Video of the incident showed the boar trotting down a carriage half-filled with bemused commuters as a hapless staff member tried, & failed, to catch him with a blue tarpaulin. Video of the incident showed the juvenile trotting down a carriage half-filled with bemused commuters as a hapless staff member tried, & failed, to catch him with a blue tarpaulin. Best known for its densely packed skyscrapers, Hong Kong also boasts large tracts of subtropical mountains & parkland that host a thriving number of Eurasian wild pigs. And increasingly humans and pigs are meeting face to snout, reported AFP. Boars have been filmed running alongside vehicles on roads, jogging down beaches filled with sunbathers, sniffing the tarmac at the city's international airport & even falling through the ceiling of a children's clothing store, reported AFP.
