Bicycles have been a mode of transportation, recreation, exercise and sport since their invention. In India, it was the most crucial mode of transportation before and even after Independence. However, with changing times, faster vehicles have taken over and the bicycle had largely lost its illustrious aura.
But in 2020, in the year of COVID-19, there has been a growing enthusiasm amongst people towards cycling. In an effort to understand the sudden rise in the number of cyclists on the road, The Wire‘s Shekhar Tiwari spoke to some enthusiasts on Rajpath.
