In the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna (Sri Ramakrishna Kathamrita) written by Sri Mahendranath Gupta, we find references of many devotional songs, sung by either Sri Ramakrishna Himself or his devotees. This song is one of those songs. Narendranath Dutta (Swami Vivekananda) once sung the song before Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa. It was written by Sri Becharam Chattopadhyay.

Meaning:

Shall the days of my life go in vain?
O Lord, I am looking for a way of hope day and night.

You are the Lord of the whole universe, I am just a lorn beggar.
How can I ask you to come and stay in my heart?

I always keep the door of my heart open,
Would you come for once and relief my soul?
