Amid corruption allegations by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on April 05 submitted his resignation to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
His resignation comes in the wake of the Bombay High Court order directing CBI to probe preliminary investigations into the allegations made by Singh against Deshmukh.
Singh, in a letter to Thackeray, had accused Deshmukh of instructing police officials including arrested cop Sachin Vaze to collect extortion money.
