Deputy Federal Territories Minister Edmund Santhara has returned to Malaysia after over 80 days in New Zealand.

The Segamat MP said he is currently undergoing 10 days of mandatory quarantine, and is working online.

Previously it was reported that Santhara had obtained 55 days' leave - including unpaid leave - to be with his family in New Zealand.

At the time, the deputy minister said his wife was sick and that he had not seen his child for over a year.
