When KT went hunting for ice in the desert

Join Khaleej Times' Muhammad Sajjad as he makes his way to Raknah in Al Ain in search of ice in the desert. Raknah may be an obscure spot tucked away in one corner of Al Ain but it is currently the coolest spot in the UAE, literally. For days this week it has recorded near-zero temperatures with icicles and thin sheets of ice forming on the sparse vegetation in the remote area. Raknah is about 4km into the desert, off the main road but we found our way thanks to GPS and a little human Fahad Mohammed from the UAE Storm Centre. Read more on www.khaleejtimes.com
