The number of people estimated to be sleeping rough on a single night in autumn fell by more than a third in a year, according to figures from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG). This coincided with a national lockdown throughout November and tier restrictions in October. Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick said: “The task now is to make sure that those people move in to safe and secure long-term accommodation, and that we don’t slip back to the ways of the past.” Report by Jonesia.
