Granting of fishing rights may be delayed by a year

The Fisheries Department is approaching the high court to review small-scale fishing rights processes in the Western Cape. It says it's received complaints regarding fairness and accuracy. An audit also concluded that the verification process was wholly inadequate. Minister Barbara Creecy says she wants to make the process fair and transparent. She says those who currently have permits will be allowed to continue fishing. Courtesy #DStv403
