Considering the problem faced by the transgender community, the Uttar Pradesh government has opened a toilet fully dedicated to them in Kamachha area of the city. The transgender community faces certain problems as at times they aren't allowed in men or women public toilets.

उत्तर प्रदेश के वाराणसी शहर की साफ-सफाई में किन्नरों की भागीदारी सुनिश्चित करने के लिए प्रदेश सरकार ने ट्रांसजेंडर्स को बड़ी सौगात दी है। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के संसदीय क्षेत्र में प्रदेश के पहले ट्रांसजेंडर शौचालय का उद्घाटन महापौर मृदुला जायसवाल ने किया। उनके साथ नगर निगम वाराणसी के नगर आयुक्त गौरांग राठी भी मौजूद थे. स्मार्ट सिटी योजना के तहत वाराणसी के कमच्छा इलाके में ये शौचालय बनाया गया है।
