Petrol and diesel prices are on fire in the country, the government also realizes this, but no relief is being talked about till now. Rather, the thing is happening now that how to bring any other fuel in place of petrol and diesel. Gadkari further said that it is time for the country to move towards alternative fuels, this is my suggestion. I am already promoting electricity as fuel because India has surplus electricity.

देश में पेट्रोल-डीजल की कीमतों में आग लगी हुई है, सरकार को भी इसका अहसास है, लेकिन अबतक किसी तरह की राहत की बात नहीं की जा रही है. बल्कि बात अब ये हो रही है कि पेट्रोल-डीजल की जगह कोई दूसरा ईंधन कैसे चलन में लाया जाए. गडकरी ने आगे कहा की देश के लिए वैकल्पिक ईंधन की तरफ जाने का समय है, ये मेरा सुझाव है. मैं पहले से ही इलेक्ट्रिसिटी को ईंधन के रूप में प्रचारित कर रहा हूं क्योंकि भारत में सरप्लस इलेक्ट्रिसिटी है.
