Pressure is mounting on the KwaZulu-Natal health department to fast-track the opening of the newly built Dr Pixley Ka Isaka Seme Memorial Hospital in Durban. Construction of the R2.8 billion facility began in 2015 and should have been completed in 2018. Unions are now demanding that the hospital be opened.
