Tourism blow for Guadeloupe as French island toughens entry conditions

The tourism sector of Guadeloupe suffers a major blow after authorities rule that all arrivals to the French Caribbean island, with the exception of those from Martinique, must pledge "on their honour" to respect a seven-day isolation. Guadeloupe had thus far been spared strict lockdown measures introduced nationally by France. "Cancellations began as early as Sunday and people are calling a lot for information," said the director of the Arawak hotel, located on the seafront in Gosier.
