पुणे के सीरम इंस्टीट्यूट से कोवीशील्ड के 56.5 लाख डोज देश के 13 शहरों के लिए रवाना हो गए हैं। सीरम के CEO अदार पूनावाला ने इसे ऐतिहासिक पल बताया है। उन्होंने कहा कि हमारी चुनौती देश के हर नागरिक तक वैक्सीन को पहुंचाने की है। 2021 में यही चैलेंज है और देखते हैं कि ये कैसे पूरा होता है. पूनावाला ने कहा कि हम सरकार की रिक्वेस्ट पर शुरुआती 10 करोड़ डोज 200 रुपए के स्पेशल प्राइस पर देंगे. हम आम आदमी, जरूरतमंदों, गरीबों और हेल्थकेयर वर्कर्स को सपोर्ट करना चाहते हैं। इसके बाद हम बाजार में ये वैक्सीन एक हजार रुपए के दाम पर बेचेंगे.
